Julie Alert reviewed the upcoming schedule of events with the Board. Julie reminded the Board we will be moving to state forms effective July 1, 2006. To assist our members in a smooth transition, the Board will hold training classes on April 21 at the Matterhorn Restaurant and May 10 at Country Inn & Suites in Elkhart. Jodi Tuttle, IAR Legal Counsel, will be the instructor. The Board of Directors has asked the Board office to carry the Inspectors Authorization Response form in addition to the Listing Contract, Purchase Agreement, Seller Disclosure, Lead Base Paint Disclosure, and Counter Offer. The April Membership Meeting will be held on April 27, 2006 beginning at 11:30 AM at the Matterhorn Restaurant in Elkhart. The topic will be RESPA.
MLS motion passed to incorporate a third party fax provider, Send2Fax, for members to use when uploading Associated Documents to Paragon.
Julie advised the Board the National Association of REALTORS® has begun the 2006 Public Awareness Campaign. Julie gave a report from the Facilities Task Force. The task force has contacted local exclusive Commercial Brokers regarding lisitng the old Board office. They have been asked to submit a marketing plan. A full report will be available when a decision has been made. The task force has also asked Wightman Petrie to do a presentation at the April Board meeting re: future land and building use. The task force will have a recommendation at that time on how to proceed with the existing purchase agreement.
ECBOR President, Don DeShano, has suggested the Board get involved with some type of community project this year. Janice Ruszkowski suggested a county road clean up day as a possible event. The Board was in support of the idea but felt more information was needed. Janice Ruszkowski and Bob Shultz will find out more about the protocols Rotary uses when doing this type of event. The task force will review this information and bring back a recommendation to the Board.
MLS motion passed to approve Affiliate Keypad Application to Home Pro Inspectors, Thomas Megyese, Affiliate.
The Board of Directors has asked Julie to invite Bill Wargo, Chief Investigator for the Elkhart Co. Prosecutor's office, back as a speaker on the local Meth situation. They also suggested Mildred Wilkins, President of Home Ownership Matt ers, return to speak about Mortgage Fraud. An additional suggestion was to have Kathy Sercy speak on tax assessment issues.
Cory White spoke about mortgage fraud and its impact on the local real estate community. He will keep the Board updated on this issue. Dave Myers suggested a proactive PR campaign to alert consumers to the possibility of mortgage fraud and how using a Realtor may help avoid this situation. This idea will be followed up on.

The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on April 13, 2006 at 8:30 AM at the Board Office.
