REALTOR®
SAFETY WEEK
September 14-20, 2003
We
always hope that the issue of REALTOR® on-the-job safety has
not touched our membership. However, the possibility exists. Working
with an unfamiliar person, in an isolated location, may potentially
expose both male and female members to life-threatening situations.
While
most of the activities at NAR are aimed at helping our members prosper,
no measure of material success can equal the value of an agent's
life or well being. NAR is deeply committed to REALTOR® safety
and has provided us with educational material to help promote this
very important issue.
Those
materials include a safety video (Don't Be a Victim); several handouts
(a Safety Scenario quiz, real-life attack stories, NAR Safety Tips-Avoiding
Danger, and others; an Office Safety Action Plan Worksheet to help
improve the agent's safety on the job.
Any
and all of these materials are available at the Board Office for
your use or for office meetings at NO CHARGE. Call with your request
(875-3283).
ANNUAL
DUES BILLING
Attention Principal Brokers!
The
2004 Annual Dues Billing for the Elkhart County Board of REALTORS®
was recently mailed to all Principal Brokers. The proper procedure
to remit your dues to the Board is as follows:
1. Please
collect all dues dollars owed from your office and send to the Board
office at one time. Personal checks, Visa, Master Card, Discover
and American Express are accepted. An agent may come to the Board
office and use their credit card if they wish or they can write
their credit card number, expiration date, and zip code for the
billing address of the cardholder on their individual invoice.
2. If
you receive an invoice for an agent that is no longer with your
firm, please indicate where they have transferred to on the invoice.
If you have sent their license to Escrow, please send the documentation
to that effect and write DELETE on their invoice. Return this information,
with the rest of your member dues dollars and invoices to the Board
Office.
3.
Dues are payable by October 1, 2003. Please be aware that dues paid
after October 31, 2003 will be subject to penalties and late fees
in accordance with the Bylaws.
If an
agent goes inactive on or before December 31, 2003, the agent may
submit a written request for a refund through January 31, 2004.
Refunds will be issued in February.
We appreciate
your cooperation as you make every effort to have your dues paid
on time. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate
to call and ask for help.
The
Board would like you to be aware that there may be a possible increase
in state dues. If any increase is approved, each office will receive
an invoice reflecting the dues adjustment.
2003
RPAC CAMPAIGN
The
2003 RPAC Campaign is in full swing!
We want to take this opportunity to thank all our members for their
support. It takes everyone working together to make this a successful
campaign. If you have not sent your contribution to the Board yet,
we encourage you to fill in your campaign form and do so as soon
as possible.
MESSAGE
FROM SUPRA
We
all have experienced problems with Supra and the updates. One thing
that may help is to access the Supra website for update codes (http://www.supraekey.com).
Try it the next time you need a quick update and you're on hold
for a long time with Supra Customer Service. The website just might
offer a simple solution to your update code problem!
Also,
just as a reminder - by calling 1-800-699-6787, you will be able
to obtain assistance with Technical Support and Palm purchase information.
