LOCK BOX & KEYPAD EXCHANGE
The Elkhart County Board of REALTORS® is converting to the Supra iBox on Wednesday, August 30, 2006. The iBox is able to offer a variety of enhanced services and will allow agents a choice of several handheld devices to use. Offerings vary from the basic Display Key to PDA’s and powerful smart phones allowing agents to choose what best fits their needs and budget.
In addition to changing our lock boxes, agents will be swapping out their current Display Key (dkey) for a new Display Key (dkey) or one of the electronic devices supported by Supra. (See http://www.supraekey.com/ for a current list of supported devices.) Supra is offering this opportunity as part of the iBox upgrade so agents will have a new keypad with a fresh battery. This is an important opportunity as the battery in the Display Key has an approximate life of six years, if the keypad is put on the cradle nightly, and we are entering our fourth year.
Prior to the exchange, Supra will come to the Board Office and do a set of “sneak previews”. The sneak previews are informational sessions providing information on the benefits of using PDA’s and Smart Phones as your keypad. The date for the sneak previews is set for Monday, August 21st at the Board Office. Agents will receive detailed information from Supra so watch your mail. We will also post the details on our website as soon as we have them confirmed.
Dates to Remember:
Monday, August 21, 2006 – Several “sneak previews” for agents who are interested in learning about the E-Key and E-Key professional service. This is the service that allows agents to utilize PDA’s and cell phones to access the I-Box. These sessions will be scheduled throughout the day and will be held at the Board Office. Official notice will be sent from Supra.
Wednesday, August 30, 2006 – This is the date of the actual swap that will be held at the Matterhorn. Brokers will collect all the keyboxes currently leased to them and bring them to the Matterhorn. The Brokers will then be given their allotment of the new I-Boxes. All Agents will swap out their keypads for either a new D-Key or convert to the E-Key. Appointment times will be sent out two weeks prior to the swap.
