NEW STAFF HIRED AT THE BOARD OFFICE
As many of you know, Nancy Mandell, who worked for the MLS for approximately five years, recently retired (again!) Earlier this month, we hired a new staff person, Heather Durham. Heather will be working at the front desk, answering phones and assisting with MLS and Board issues. Heather comes to us with over 12 years experience in office procedures. Heather lives in Elkhart with Ian, her husband of 5 years.

ELKHART COUNTY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL UPDATE
Goshen Community Schools has added a new school. Prairie View Elementary is located on the south east side of Goshen. The code in the MLS will be PRVW.
A change has been made to two Baugo Community Schools in the MLS. Jimtown Elementary will now be called Jimtown South Elementary (JIMT) and Harley Holben will now be called Jimtown North Elementary (HARL). The codes in the MLS will remain the same.

The 2007 Annual REALTOR® Dues will be mailed out to the Brokers on August 15, 2006 and will be due October 1, 2006. As last year, the opportunity to donate to RPAC will be a part of the dues billing. We hope this will make it more convenient for you to contribute to RPAC.
Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may contribute more or less than the amount suggested or refuse to contribute without affecting your membership rights.
Remember, your contribution is an investment in your business and a commitment to preserving the future of your industry. RPAC helps elect officials at the national, state and local levels who support private property rights and the free enterprise system.

UPDATE ON THE PROGRESS OF “SMART FRAMING”
Smart Framing is a form of IDX that will be offered through the MLS to Participants and Agents who wish to have access to the MLS database for their public websites. The smart framing option will be offered as part of the Unit of Service fee but it only allows for limited customizing.
However, the smart framing availability has been moved back to the middle of September. We are still waiting on some programming issues to be resolved as well as developing internal controls to facilitate the necessary paperwork and signatures. Agents must have the Participants written approval prior to the data being released.
IDX or BR (Broker Reciprocity) is still available in a data download format that is completely customizable and can be integrated into any website format. The download is available in a standard database format or in RETS format. The fee is $75.00 a quarter with a $150.00 set-up fee. The set-up fee is required upon application and is non-refundable.
If you are interested please contact Kathy Bradley at the MLS office at 875-3283.
