Julie updated the Board on upcoming events. The 2006 Annual Meeting will be held on October 26th at the Matterhorn Restaurant. The 2007 annual REALTOR dues were due October 1, 2006. A late fee of $75 will be incurred on November 1, 2006.
Julie updated the Board on the status of the Shared Service Agreement with South Bend. MLS motion passed to amend the Shared Service Agreement to require primary membership be held with either board in order to participate in the shared service.
Bob Przybylski and Julie Alert presented the minutes and recommendations of the Broker Reciprocity Task Force. MLS motion passed to adopt the revisions to the BR Rules & Regulations as submitted, including the removal of the requirement to display the listing office phone number on the results display. Julie reported the Truth attended the BR Task Force meeting and presented a partnership proposal. MLS motion passed to have a task force work with the Truth to explore the benefits of displaying MLS active listings on the Truth’s website. Julie updated the Board on the Smart Framing product offered through Paragon.
The contract with Fidelity will be expiring in 2007. Concerns regarding the system and the process required to make changes were discussed. The Board asked Julie to set up a meeting with Valet MLS, a MLS vendor who offers a customizable MLS system, at the NAR convention in November. Don DeShano will head up the MLS Vendor Search Task Force and work with Julie on this project.
ECBOR President Don DeShano discussed having a “lunch and learn” program. Barb Swartley volunteered to be on the Education Committee to look into training options for the membership. Julie reminded the Board the strategic planning process is scheduled for May 2007 and part of that process will be to review the committee structure in its entirety.
Don DeShano, as President of the Board, selected the Elkhart County Women’s Shelter to receive funds from the Holiday Auction in addition to the Elkhart and Goshen Salvation Army.
MLS President Karen Smith updated the Board on the sale of the Main Street building.
Dave Myers updated the Board on the pending sale of Lot 4 Alpha Drive.
Discussion was held regarding the appropriate use of the Supra website that allows lock boxes to be assigned to specific listings. Everyone needs to remember to unassign the lock box from the listing when the listing sells or the data will not be accurate.
ECBOR motion passed to approve the following applicants for membership pending licensing, paperwork and payment of fees.
