Julie reviewed the 2005 Board orientation packet with the Board including the 2005 calendar. Julie asked all Board members to familiarize themselves with the Anti Trust brochure provided for them in their packet as it pertains to Association management responsibilities under the law.

Ecbor motion passed to approve the 2005 budget as presented.

MLS motion passed to approve the 2005 budget as presented pending Participant approval.

Julie updated the Board on the status of the MLS conversion. Training classes have been scheduled for February 28-March 4, 2005 at the Country Inn and Suites in Elkhart. Cut over to Paragon will be on March 28, 2005.

Julie informed the Board Kosciusko County Association of REALTORS® expressed interest in reciprocity discussions after hearing about the agreement set up with the Northeastern Indiana Association of REALTORS®.

MLS motion passed to charge a reinstatement fee of $50 beginning in 2006 to reactivate keypads turned off for nonpayment of annual fee. Julie reviewed the recommendations of the Computer task force with the Board members.

A Board member presented a newspaper article quoting Goshen Mayor, Alan Kauffman. The comment read “real estate agents and developers playing a role in shaping the beliefs about rural schools being better.” Discussion was held regarding the public’s possible misconception as to what role REALTORS® play in the process. The Board decided Ecbor President, Dave Myers, will contact the Mayor to discuss his comments and, if necessary, a letter to the Editor will be written.

Ecbor motion passed to support NAR’s Tsunami Relief effort. The Board will match member donations up to $2500.00. Ecbor motion passed to contribute $1200.00 to Big Brothers Big Sisters for a corporate sponsorship which includes advertising exposure.

The next Board of Directors meeting will be Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 8:30 AM at the Board office.
