Dear MLS Update:

I can't find Year Built on the Search Screen and I use this field all the time. I am told I can "Customize my Layout" and put Year Built on the search screen so its there each time. I have heard so much about Customizing the Layout but I an not the best when it comes to using computers. Can you help me?

Dear Customized:

You are right, you can add new fields to your Search Screen and more when you customize the layout.

Here are the instructions from the Help menu in Paragon. When you get a spare minute, visit the Help section in Paragon. You will be amazed how much you will learn.

About Customizing the Layout

Customize Layout allows an agent to pick the fields they want to use on their search screen when doing a property search.  There are a lot of fields available and they can be found under the "Customize Layout" button on the upper right hand corner of your screen. You can select the fields you wish to use and the order you wish to display.

Example:

• Click Search > Property > Select any Class

• Click on the maroon Customize Layout hyperlink above the Count/Select view box.  A box will appear with a list of fields on the left and three boxes (Primary, Secondary, Advanced) on the right.

• Click on a field on the left and click Add .  That field will appear in the criteria box you selected on your right. The first box is what appears first and second box appears second. You have to open the second box on your search screen to see the criteria so most people choose the first box.
• The Move up and Move Down buttons will allow you to change the order of the fields on the screen.
• If you can't find the field you are looking for use the" Find text" box by typing in the name of the field & press apply.
• If you want to remove a field from your screen Click on the field in the left hand box and then click remove. It will be gone!
• After making your changes, Add, Move Up, Remove etc. Please make sure to click Apply at the bottom of the Box to make the changes on your search screen.
