May and June Board Meeting Highlights:

Board Accounting Firm, McGladrey & Pullen, presented the ECBOR and MLS year-end financial statements for 2004. The board discussed benefits of leasing or purchasing lock boxes with the Accountant. The finance committee will review the key box proposal and report back to the board with a recommendation. The year-end statements were filed for audit.

Julie reviewed the calendar and upcoming events. There will not be a June membership meeting. Jodi Tuttle will be the guest speaker at the July membership meeting being held in Goshen at the Maple Crest Country Club beginning at 8:30 AM.

The Board was updated on the lock box situation. The MLS office does not have any boxes in inventory and is unable to order any new boxes due to the daily update requirement of the new IBOX. Therefore, an audit is being conducted and Supra has agreed to send 25 AEII boxes instead of the new Iboxes until we can sort out how we will move ahead in the future. The MLS inventory shows enough boxes for every office; however, the audit will determine if the boxes shown in MLS inventory are still in the member office inventory or in the field. The current update cycle was discussed by the Board. MLS motion passed to have the MLS staff work with Supra to move to a daily keypad update giving a minimum of 30 days notice to the membership. Julie presented a proposal from Supra and reviewed the three pricing options with the Board. The board referred the proposal to the MLS Finance Committee for a recommendation on how to proceed.

MLS Staff will be going through a Supra internal conversion to change the management software from a desktop to an online product. The conversion will take place the last part of July and members are asked to be sensitive to these changes.

Julie updated the members on the MLS conversion and the recent enhancements. Fidelity has requested the 2004 tax update from the Elkhart County Assessors Office. Fidelity is working on getting TIF information incorporated in the tax database. The Paragon desktop software will be released in July and training will be scheduled for July 19, 20 and 21 st . Cost of software will be $125.00, however, $25.00 can be saved if the software is purchased before or during training.

The MLS Board adopted a policy on the submission of digital images to the MLS. Motion and 2 nd to adopt the following language: Digital images submitted to the MLS shall only contain photos pertinent to the listed property; floor plans of the listed property or renderings of the listed property. Digital images shall not contain contact information such as names, phone numbers, email addresses, website address or copyrights, including use of embedded, overlaid, or digitally stamped information.

MLS adopted a Reciprocity agreement with Kosciusko County MLS effective July 1, 2005. Cost is $25.00 per member per month and the Participant must join.

Julie reported she attended a meeting on June 2, 2005 in Plymouth with other MLS's in Northern Indiana to discuss regionalization. Additional meetings have been scheduled and Gary Walters from Southwestern Michigan will speak at the next meeting on Southwest Michigan experience in MLS data sharing.

Julie updated the Board on the NAR Legislative meetings. ECBOR President Dave Myers reported he and MLS President, Kent Miller met with Congressman Mark Souder in Washington D.C. They discussed the national issues and the US 33 road-widening project. Congressman Souder gave Dave some information to follow up that may help.

MLS motion passed to approve Northeastern reciprocity application for Coldwell Banker Schrock Real Estate - Participating Broker Tom Schrock and Homemaker Realty - Participating Broker Bonnie Miller. MLS motion passed to approve new MLS office application for Douglas Luper, Appraiser - Participating Broker Douglas Luper. MLS motion passed to approve Affiliate Keypad Application for AmeriSpec Home Inspection, Mark Modlin Affiliate.
