While Microsoft has made significant changes to how software runs on its new Windows Vista operating system, the good news is Paragon 3 Online is 97% compatible and is expected to be 100% compatible with the Paragon 3.9 Release scheduled for Q2-2007. In the meantime and until P3.9 is deployed, we strongly recommend that users do not install/upgrade to Vista or elect this operating system when purchasing a new PC. To better assist our MLS Customers, Fidelity MLS Systems and Solutions has prepared a list of Vista compliant issues being addressed with P3.9 outlined below.

Vista Factors and Who Is Affected?
Although we do not anticipate the majority of Paragon 3 users will be affected by Microsoft’s release of Vista, Fidelity MLS realizes that a number of our clients will if they chose to upgrade to the new OS.  The following are factors with Microsoft Vista and the Paragon 3 platform to date:

Microsoft Windows Vista OS changes The Vista release contains several architectural changes that dramatically affect the way the Operating System, its supporting tools and processes work. Some of these changes include:

• A New File Storage Process
• New Security Features – Introduction of User Access Control (UAC), etc.
• Incompatibility of existing Microsoft Development tools.

Reminder: Microsoft has a Service Pack in development to address issues already identified and reported with the initial release of Vista.

Steps for resolving the “Active-X Control failed to load” error message when attempting to print mailing labels from Paragon.

With the security updates that Microsoft has introduced recently for the Windows XP operating
system and Internet Explorer 7, Paragon users may experience an error when attempting to print
mailing labels from the Paragon MLS system.

When initially opening the Paragon Mailing Label screen, Paragon will attempt to install a small
program that allows the user to select from a predefined set of Avery mailing labels. Based upon
the security settings on a computer, the user may receive an error stating “An Active-X control
has failed to load. Please update your security settings and try again.” However, in some cases,
modifying the security settings inside of Internet Explorer will not resolve the issue.

Once you have saved the necessary file onto the desktop, please follow the steps here to resolve the issue.
