The MLS Board of Directors adopted the recommendation of the Shared Service Task Force to sign a three-year contract with Fidelity National Information Solution (FNIS)for the Paragon MLS system. The task force also recommended that MLS send letters to the surrounding MLSs extending an offer to Share Services. This would be in addition to continuing talks with South Bend to form a regional MLS service within the next three years.

The Elkhart County Assessor requested additional comp books to share with the other assessor offices. The Board tabled any action on this issue until after a meeting with the Assessor to discuss the situation and how we can both benefit. Julie Alert and Dean Slabach will meet with Gene Inbody and report to the Board at the May meeting.

The Board of Directors were asked to participate in a Elkhart County housing study to help assess current housing conditions, project the future supply and demand for housing and identify actions that need to be taken in order to create, develop, or preserve affordable housing.

The National Association of Realtors® notified ECBOR their By-laws were in compliance with NAR guidelines. NAR notified the MLS the BR Rules & Regs, MLS By-laws and VOW Rules & Regs were in compliance with NAR guidelines. NAR is still reviewing the MLS Rules & Regs and the Lock Box policies for compliance. The MLS was informed the handling of expired listings in our current system is considered to be out of compliance with NAR policy. Julie is working with NAR to meet an acceptable solution until the new MLS system can be installed.

Motion passed to approve MLS keypad for Accent Door & Electric, Joel Blosser, Affiliate and Inspector Johnathan Inc., Johnathan Smith, Affiliate.

The next Board of Directors meeting will be Thursday, May 6, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. at the Board office.
