Julie Alert submitted a flyer outlining how to utilize the new MLS fax program that uploads associated docs to the listings. The Board would like to see this program reviewed and then make some of the forms mandatory to upload.
MLS motion passed to charge $200 to any reciprocal MLS office who joins more than once within a 12-month period.
Julie reported on the success of the four training classes held on state forms instructed by IAR Legal Counsel, Jodi Tuttle. Additional classes may be scheduled at a later date.
The Board reviewed South Bend’s new Lock Box Policy and its impact on Elkhart County members and the MLS. The Board felt Elkhart County did not have the same issues as South Bend but they felt our budget may take a hit with a potential need for extra lock boxes. After much discussion, Julie felt it may help to send a letter to the Greater South Bend Board to make them aware of the potential impact this rule may have on our budget and our ability to give agents boxes for the REO properties.
The Board began a discussion on the merits of converting to the new I box product from Supra. Julie informed the Board the gray boxes (AE II Boxes) failure rate is increasing and replacing the gray boxes with I-Boxes in small increments is becoming very expensive. In considering other options, Supra and SentriLock were contacted for a full conversion quotes. The account rep from Supra will be hosting our May membership meeting and demonstrating the attributes of the IBOX product. After the presentation to membership, the Board will convene to review the figures and discuss whatever needs to be discussed with the Supra rep. The complete project will be reviewed at the June meeting.

The Board asked staff to review the current procedures and work out a different policy that would include training before giving Affiliate access to the keypad.

SYMPATHY:
Our thoughts and sympathies to Kevin Foy and his family in the loss of Kevin’s father, Bill Foy, on April 7, 2006.
The Board was shocked and deeply saddened to see our old friend Jimmie Shrack, a loan officer at First Federal Bank, pass away. Jimmie was a long-time member of the Board and contributed for years as a member of the Entertainment Committee. Her contributions will live on for a long time to come. We will miss Jimmie with her dry wit and great big heart. Our sympathies and prayers go out to her family and co-workers at First Federal Bank who must just be shocked and devastated by the loss of a dear friend. Jimmie died on May 9, 2006.
