About the Program:
Alan Thorup has been in the financing business for several years and will be presenting valuable information about credit scores. Mr. Thorup plans to give an introduction to credit and credit scores while giving history on the development and various sources of information. He will also discuss the components of a credit report and how to read one. One important aspect of a credit score is to learn how to improve a credit score. This type of information will be valuable when working with clients and lenders.
About the Speaker:
Mr. Thorup graduated from Eastern Michigan with BBA degrees in Accounting and Management and Xavier University MBA with a concentration in Management. He is also President of The Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association as of the meeting (currently President-Elect until 5/3). Mr. Thorup has 23 years in mortgage lending (1983-2006) originating, managing sales, and managing operations in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. His personal originations of conventional, FHA and VA loans exceeding $100M as a full-time loan originator. Mr. Thorup’s current position, as of September 2006, is the Account Executive for LandAmerica Lending Services in Indiana.
