CHIPS October 2004

The Code of Ethics course requirement was reviewed. The Board will need to consider how the suspension will work in our Board. They will need to determine how long the minimum suspension will be and what services will be interrupted. The Board asked the attorney to review the information from NAR and submit a recommendation to the Board in October. Letters will be sent to members who need to comply and the Board asked that a copy of the letter be sent to the Principal Broker for their information.

Julie reported a Shared Service meeting was set up with the Northeastern Indiana MLS for next week. This is an opportunity to extend services to a contiguous MLS. A report will be available to the Board in October.

Julie reported on the reaction to the Personal Promotion regulation and asked the Board to review several questions she had. She presented listings containing website information for auctions and additional documents for listings. The Board indicated these situations pertained to promotion of the listing and would not be considered personal promotion. The issue of co-listing was discussed. The Board decided to allow the word co-list to be put in the remarks and the name of the agent to be put in a different field that didn’t print out on the public handout. The field will be determined by the MLS office. The Board was advised that this situation should work out better with the installation of the new system.

The next Board of Directors meeting will be Thursday, October 14, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. at the Board office.

BOARD NEWS

Integrity REALTORS® (Teresa Brown, Broker) has applied for a Corporate LLC name change to Integrity Realty. This change should be completed within 30 days. Elkhart County and South Bend/Mishawaka Boards have both made this name change in the respective MLS systems.

ON THE MOVE

Teresa Forrest has moved from Prudential One Realty in Goshen to Prudential One in Mishawaka and therefore, is a member of the South Bend/Mishawaka Board.

Jessica Rogers has relocated to Re/Max Realty Marketing-Elkhart from the Goshen Office.

Kendrae Hilty is now on the roster for Re/Max Realty Marketing-Goshen from Century 21 Landmark.

Maria Pendley is now a member of Southwestern Michigan Association of REALTORS®, as well as continuing to be an ECBOR member.

Affiliate Samantha Conrad is no longer with Liberty Mortgage and is now at Olympia Funding in Goshen.
