September 2006
Julie updated the Board on upcoming events. The 2007 annual REALTOR® dues were mailed on August 15, 2006 and are due October 1, 2006. A late fee of $75 will be incurred on November 1, 2006. The MLS & ECBOR Finance Committee meeting will be held in November and consists of the Executive Committee, Past President and 2007 Secretary/Treasurer of each Board. The National Convention is being held in New Orleans November 10-13, 2006. There will be projects set up for REALTORS® to assist in rebuilding New Orleans during the convention. Julie updated the Board on the pending sale of Lot 4 Alpha Drive. Discussion was held on how to display value range marketing within the MLS and the Board decided the remarks would be the appropriate place to put the information. No changes were made to the current policy.
Julie gave an update on the Lockbox Conversion held on August 30, 2006. MLS motion passed to charge Participants who utilize the service provided by Supra but do not use a keypad the dkey amount. The fees associated with the keypads offset the cost of the entire service and therefore if a member uses some but not all components they will be charged. If a Participant does not use the keypads or the lockboxes no fees shall be assessed.
Discussion was held regarding long-term planning. Services of Gar Anderson, NAR Vice President of Association Executives and Leadership Development has been offered to assist with the planning process at no charge. IN SYMPATHY
Our sincerest sympathies are extended to the family of REALTOR® member, Kim Stackhouse, who passed away on September 30th at her home. Kim faced her illness with courage, strength and kindness. Anyone who touched Kim’s life knew she was an exceptional human being and she will be greatly missed. Kim joined the Board in 1996 and was most recently affiliated with Re/Max Excellence.
We also send our thoughts and prayers to the family of Don DeShano, Managing Broker at Cressy & Everett and President of the ECBOR Board, and his family as they work through the recent loss of his brother-in-law. Losing a close family member is a very difficult life experience and we offer our deepest sympathy.
